Good morning, and happy Friday. Fashion month is officially in the rearview mirror, and the industry is already moving on to what comes next. Here is your five minute briefing on the stories worth knowing in fashion and home decor.
Fashion
Nobody’s Child and Elizabeth Scarlett’s “Collected Treasures” is the collab to watch. The two British labels just launched their first autumn winter collection together, all hand-drawn embroidery, ruffled velvet minis, and relaxed knitwear. Each piece is designed to be kept and passed on, not discarded.
The data is in: Dior won fashion month’s social week. Onclusive’s analysis of Paris Fashion Week SS27 shows the Dior hashtag family dominating social conversation, with Louis Vuitton’s Louvre close and Saint Laurent close behind. Proof that a strong show still moves the needle.
Pawan Sachdevaa takes Indian craft into contemporary tailoring. The designer presents RECAST at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI on October 17, reworking Bandhani, Shibori, Kasuti, and Kantha through denim, workwear, and modern tailoring. A timely question, beautifully posed.
Topshop x Talia Byre lands late October. The London designer brings her colour, proportion, and everyday drama to Topshop in a ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories capsule, previewed at her SS27 London Fashion Week show. Made in Spain, and made for real life.
The best of Paris SS27, in pictures. If you missed the week’s spectacle, Indulge Express rounds up the defining moments: Saint Laurent’s gold at the Trocadero, Rick Owens at the reflecting pool, Chanel’s glowing birds beneath the Grand Palais. A worthy five minutes.
Home Decor
October’s colour is Blushing Burgundy. Drew and Jonathan named their October Colour of the Month, and it is exactly the deep, dusty hue this season wants. A pop against neutrals, or the main character of the room.
Fall’s mood has a name: Dirtcore. Thumbtack’s fall report, via Sunset, says homeowners are going all in on rich, enveloping colour, with interior painting requests up more than 30 percent year over year. Warmth is the new neutral.
Wicker won September. Domino’s roundup of its readers’ most loved products shows wicker and natural textures dominating wish lists, from vintage-style chairs to block print lampshades. Proof the handmade look has real staying power.
October’s home sales are worth your attention. Apartment Therapy rounds up this week’s deals: IKEA discounts through October 12, Wayfair’s 5 Days of Deals, CB2’s fall sale, and Target Circle Deal Days. If a room refresh is on the list, this is the week.
