Good morning. Here is your five minute briefing on what is happening in fashion and at home, curated with care.

Zara is borrowing luxury’s playbook, and the numbers say it works. A new Launchmetrics report finds that mass market brands using premium strategies, like designer partnerships and creative appointments, averaged twice the media impact value of those that did not. Zara’s Galliano announcement alone generated an estimated $8.3 million in media value within 48 hours. The October launch of Re{form} now tests whether the attention outlasts the collection.

Bershka goes full Y2K with Juicy Couture. The Inditex owned youth brand keeps leaning into streetwear with a Y2K inspired capsule created with the Californian label. Nostalgia dressing continues to be one of retail’s safest bets.

Converse and Isabel Marant team up on a Chuck 70 wedge. The inline collection comes in black and white, sold through Converse and partner retailers. Parisian ease meets the most democratic sneaker in the world, and the wedge keeps it firmly in going out territory.

Tonight in Toronto: the Cashmere Collection unveils “Symphony”. Sixteen Canadian designers show their 2026 creations at Evergreen Brickworks, and from 9 p.m. EST the public can vote for a favourite online. Every vote sends $1 to the breast cancer cause, up to $100,000. Fashion as fundraising, at its most elegant.

Old Navy brings Joseph Altuzarra’s romance to fall dressing. Floral tea dresses, Fair Isle knits, satin parkas and tailored coats translate his storytelling and craftsmanship into an everyday wardrobe. Designer signatures, high street prices: the collaboration model keeps delivering.

Simply Shabby Chic is coming back to Target. Rachel Ashwell’s beloved brand returns through an exclusive multi-year partnership, launching October 11 in stores and online with bedding, decorative pillows and throws, most under $50, followed by a holiday collection. The 2004 original helped pioneer design forward collaborations at Target; more than twenty years later, the appetite for layered, lived in romance is back.

The Company Store opens the holiday season early. The 2026 Holiday Collection is available now, with festive bedding patterns like Holiday Pups Percale, Cardinals Percale and Winter Plaid Flannel, plus cozy throws and velvet layers. New pieces from the Rifle Paper Co. collaboration bring hand painted patterns to bedding and quilts just in time for hosting season.

Fall’s real story is texture. Designers point to bouclé, chenille, velvet, brushed linen, jacquard and corduroy as the materials doing the heavy lifting this season, layered over a palette that has moved past pumpkin orange into pink, burgundy and red. Gold accents, lanterns and candles at different heights add the warmth that shorter days take away.

The Interior Design Society names its 2026 Designers of the Year. Winners were honoured September 30 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, with Carson Kressley emceeing, across categories from kitchens and bedrooms to home bars and wellness spaces. A good reminder of how much craft sits behind the rooms we scroll past.

Vicente Wolf’s photography collection heads to Christie’s. Two hundred photographs assembled over nearly five decades, including works by Edward Steichen and Man Ray and a rare print of Dorothea Lange’s Migrant Mother, go under the hammer in New York on October 22. A designer’s eye, applied to collecting, is a masterclass in itself.
