How to Be Hyper Productive: Change Your Habits and Stay Focused on What Matters

If you had asked me a few years ago how I’d feel about publishing over fifteen recipe books, launching nutrition websites (USA & Canada), leading a team, growing a blog, and still having time for family, travel, and real friendships, I would have been skeptical. But here I am, living this multi-layered, purpose-driven life.

This isn’t about listing accomplishments. It’s about sharing the practical habits that have helped me create a life that feels full, not just busy. You might be an entrepreneur, a creator, or someone with more dreams than time. If you are caught up in the whirlwind of “doing it all,” I hope these lessons help you find more ease and focus.

And no, I’m not here to tell you to “just follow your passion.” Let’s assume you already have vision—what you need are fundamental strategies for turning dreams into reality, even when life feels crowded.

1. Don’t Obsess Over What You Can’t Control

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is to focus on what I can influence. During COVID, I watched friends glued to the news and constantly anxious. Staying informed is essential, but worrying endlessly about things you can’t control—like global crises, tariffs, or the economy—only drains your energy. Hyper productivity starts when you protect your mindset and focus on what you can change.

2. Cultivate a Solution-Driven Mindset

I approach every challenge by immediately looking for solutions. Dwelling on problems doesn’t serve anyone, not your business, team, or family. When something goes wrong (and it often does), I ask, “What’s the next step forward?” This mindset has helped my keep projects moving, stay resilient, and support my teams no matter what comes up.

3. Remove Unnecessary Distractions

Distractions are unique to each of us. For some, it’s endless emails or notifications; for others, it’s surrounded by people who drain your energy. Take an honest look at what wastes your time and disrupts your creative flow. Set clear boundaries, reduce non-essential commitments, and be intentional about protecting your most productive hours.

4. Surround Yourself with Growth-Minded People

I prioritize building relationships with people I can learn from and those I can help grow with my knowledge. This isn’t just about networking; it’s about building meaningful and supportive relationships. We help each other succeed in our projects and share valuable insights for growth. Sharing knowledge, encouragement, and wins makes the entrepreneurial journey more productive and fulfilling.

5. Avoid Energy Vampires

If you’ve never heard the term “energy vampire,” it’s time to look it up. These people consistently drain your optimism, creativity, and peace of mind. I used to think I could handle any personality, but I’ve learned that protecting my energy is essential. Distance yourself from these relationships or set firm boundaries. Your creativity and productivity depend on it.

Read, Learn and Grow… Never stop this process.

Here are two books that will change your productivity, mindset, and habits. If you want to deepen your journey, start with any of these in no particular order, and let them inspire your next steps.
