This is going to be a deeply personal reflection article. And yes — I agree that I am extremely lucky.
I have worked hard. I have been intentional about learning, growing, and creating. But I also recognize that my success isn’t solely due to hard work. There have been moments where preparation met opportunity — moments that no amount of effort alone could have engineered. That’s what people call luck. And today, I want to share how I believe I became “extremely lucky” — and why I know anyone can create their good fortune.
Luck Is Where Preparedness Meets Opportunity
I first came across this idea in The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra, the book that everyone should read. (Find here on Amazon). Chopra describes luck as an opportunity meeting preparedness. That definition confirmed what I had always felt: luck isn’t random. It’s what happens when you’ve done the work and life opens a door.
Think about this for a second, Opportunities are everywhere. That job that you want is there, the business that you want to build is possible, the trip you want to take, your bucket list… everything already exists. The real question is — are we ready for them?
Health: A Lifelong Curiosity That Became a Foundation
In 2013-2014, I took an online nutrition course and became a certified health coach. I was naturally drawn to health and wellness, but at the time, I loved working in the fashion industry, so I stayed on that path. Coaching wasn’t my career, but the knowledge I gained became part of the foundation of what I do today. I continued learning — exploring nutrtion, yoga, Pilates, strength training, meditation, high-protein and high-fiber diets, and the patterns of whole-food nutrition. I didn’t set out to build a business in health. I was simply passionate about it.
Fashion: Growing Through Each Stage
Fashion has been another area where curiosity led me to growth. I didn’t begin as an expert — I learned step by step. From becoming a designer to a merchandiser and, eventually, leading design and product development teams, I continually prepared myself for new opportunities. Each experience taught me not just about style but about business, creativity, and leadership.
Investing: From Fascination to Conviction
My interest in investing began early as I watched my father work with brokers. I was fascinated by the idea that a single investment could multiply in value. That curiosity stayed with me. In 2020, I began building my portfolio. I read, studied, and learned how businesses work at their core, and I became what is know as fundamental investors in the stock market. Over time, I developed a conviction — to invest early in companies like Nvidia and PLTR. My friends call me extremely lucky for picking the right stocks, and I probably am, but I also know how I prepare myself for these opportunities because I know how luck works. Those investments flourished, not because of chance, but because I was ready to recognize opportunity when it came.
Writing: A Lifelong Passion That Brings It All Together
And then, there’s writing — a passion that began before I even understood what passion was. I still remember being about 11 years old, writing a poem in grade six that became popular at school. Years later, my younger sister heard students reciting it, not realizing it was mine. While she was upset I didn’t get credit, I felt only joy that my words had inspired others.
In high school, I wrote an essay filled with real-life examples and heartfelt reflection — no preparation, just truth from my heart. My teacher praised it and used it as a teaching tool in other classes. Over the years, writing found its way into my presentations and creative work. But it wasn’t until I started this media company where I write educational and inspiring content which is the core of what I love.
How It All Came Together
My passion for health and wellness, my love for fashion, my curiosity about investing, and my lifelong dedication to writing — all of it, combined with my commitment to learning, led me to create this lifestyle media company. What appears to be luck to others is the quiet, persistent work of preparing, growing, and being ready when the opportunity arises.
🌱 Final Reflection
Luck isn’t something that happens. It’s something we create — through curiosity, preparation, and courage. When opportunity appears, luck is simply being ready to step forward and say yes, only if you ready.
