7 Business Giants That Changed the World and what They Taught Me

If you invest in the stock market, you already know about the Mega 7 companies. And if you know me, you know how much I love talking about the stock market—one of the fastest ways to grow wealth if you know what you’re doing and you’re an active investor.

But beyond investments, these companies inspire me deeply in all my creative projects. They are legendary, and while I could write about them forever, I’ll keep it focused on the most significant lessons they’ve taught me.

Who Are the Mega 7?

  1. Apple
  2. Meta (formerly Facebook)
  3. Microsoft
  4. Amazon
  5. Alphabet (Google’s parent company)
  6. Tesla
  7. Nvidia

Not long ago, this list was known as FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Google), but Netflix was removed, and Tesla & Nvidia were added, forming what we now call the Mega 7.

1. Apple 🍂 – The Power of a Brilliant Product

What apple taught me: If you create an exceptional product, you can take over the world.

Apple became the first trillion-dollar company purely because of its products. Every time a new iPhone launched, people lined up outside Apple stores across major cities.

When the iPhone was introduced, BlackBerry’s market share was almost erased overnight. Steve Jobs was heavily challenged before launch, especially regarding the touchscreen—since people were still used to button-based phones. But he stood by his vision, famously saying: “People will get used to typing on a touchscreen because the product is that good.”

He was right. We did.

My favourite Apple gadget? AirPods.

2. Meta 🏛 – The Digital Social Life

What a brilliant concept.

If you haven’t watched The Social Network, go watch it. It’s a must watch for every entrepreneur. My favourite line from the movie? “I’m a CEO… you know if you know.”

Today, Meta owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. What inspires me the most about Mark Zuckerberg is his conviction in new technology.

Yes, he failed with the Metaverse—or the way I look at it is he was just too early. AI had to come first—and now, his time has arrived for metaverse, almost.

Have you seen what Meta Ray-Bans can do? I was blown away by their ability to answer real-time questions. You can literally stand in front of a building and ask, “What is this?” The glasses will tell you its history. Perfect for travelling, even in your own city.

Meta Ray-Bans are the most underrated gadget of 2024-2025. Get a pair—you won’t regret it. I have the basic glasses that I bought last year. I might get another one, sun glasses to wear outside. I am a ray-ban girl and Meta ray-ban are multi tasking smart glasses, next level. You can live stream on IG with them.

3. Microsoft 📜 – The Ultimate Digital Product

Two words: Excel and Word.

Do I need to say more?

The biggest lesson from Microsoft? SAAS (Software as a Service)—one of the most powerful digital product models in history.

4. Amazon 📦 – Expansion Has No Limits

Amazon didn’t just change how we shop—it transformed e-commerce itself.

It’s the largest online retailer in the world, yet it never stops expanding. The biggest lesson?

There are no limits. They work with everyone while also creating their own products.

Amazon revolutionized self-publishing, allowing authors like me to publish books without the traditional publishing process.

Beyond that, Amazon has enabled countless entrepreneurs to succeed through:

  • Dropshipping
  • Amazon storefronts
  • Print-on-demand (POD) or Merch on demand
  • Amazon Associates (affiliate program)

Amazon isn’t just a retailer—it’s an opportunity ecosystem.

5. Google 🌍 – The Gateway to Knowledge

Google owns the largest search engine in the world, and YouTube has completely redefined how we consume information and education.

Before YouTube, if you had a talent or expertise, you had few ways to share it—TV, magazines, or movies and not all talented people were given a chance by the agencies or producers who controlled these media platforms. But YouTube changed that forever.

It gave talented people a global platform—completely free.

Sure, there’s misinformation, but overall? You can learn nearly anything on YouTube. Apparently, someone even built a house by watching YouTube tutorials.

That’s how powerful this platform is.

6. Tesla 🚗 – A Company That Redefines Industries

Tesla isn’t just a car company—it’s an AI company, and we haven’t even seen its best yet.

In the stock market, Tesla is viewed as a tech giant, not just an automaker. I can’t wait to see their:

🚘 Robotaxi

🤖 Optimus AI-powered robot

Tesla is redefining industries in real-time.

7. Nvidia ⚡ – My Best Investment Ever

Nvidia is my absolute favourite—probably because I believed in this company early on, and it delivered.

Years ago, I regretted not buying Amazon and Google stocks before they skyrocketed. But Nvidia? Nvidia became my Amazon and Google.

I am fascinated by Jensen Huang (Nvidia’s founder) whenever he speaks about the AI revolution. His words are precise, impactful, and visionary.

The best part about Nvidia? Just like Apple, they built a product the world needs. Other 6 companies in this list buy AI chips from Nvdia.

I could write about this forever, but I’ll stop here (for now).

If you’re into the stock market and want to explore self-investing, start by learning first—because it’s not for everyone. I will write an article on the best investing platforms in Canada.
